Product standards

The European standard EN 14 214 is generally applied to the production of biodiesel for the transport sector. It also forms the basis for quality requirements regarding admixtures of biofuels to diesel that must conform to EN 590.

The standard was originally formulated to regulate the use of biodiesel produced on the basis of rapeseed oil and used in its pure form. Different requirements have therefore been specified regarding the product's temperature resistance properties depending on the weather conditions in individual countries. As mentioned, the temperature resistance properties of biodiesel are less significant in the case of admixtures, and EN 590 is therefore being adjusted at present such that the temperature resistance properties listed in EN 14 214 no longer apply to admixtures. This will affect the sale of products from Daka Biodiesel, since the temperature resistance properties of these will be poorer than those of biodiesel produced using rapeseed and soybean oil.
