Daka is constantly working to render the production process more efficient so as to ensure that the costs of producing biodiesel may be reduced over time. This work is mainly conducted at Daka’s test plant, which is located in Løsning.

Development work focuses on the production of more effective and cheaper catalysts. Daka holds the patent for the use of an organocarbonate complex as catalyst. It has also patented a method for the removal of free fatty acids through the use of dimethylaminoethanol.

Over the coming period, we intend to focus on the development of effective methods for utilising the energy in the glycerine created during the production process. Daka Biodiesel would be interested in working with external partners on this project.
