Daka's primary task is to dispose of and environmentally pacify the by-products from slaughterhouses and the meat industry that are not used in the production of foods in a way that does not inconvenience the local environment and population. Furthermore, daka undertakes the collection of fallen stock and catering waste.
Daka's plants comply with by-product regulation (EC) NO 1774 / 2002, valid from 30 April 2003, laying down health rules concerning animal by-products not intended for human consumption. Following the new legislation Daka's raw materials are divided into 3 categories. The categories are processed at separate production facilities to prevent the risk of cross contamination.
Tha Daka Proteins plant in Lunderskov is organized according to the Food law and hygiejne legislations.
Feed
Only category 3 raw materials from pigs and poultry are used for the production of feeds. All category 3 raw materials originate from healthy animals are approved by veterinarians.
Category 3 raw materials are processed at separately located Daka Proteins plants in Løsning, Nyker and Lunderskov. No category 1 and category 2 raw materials are processed at these plants.
Furthermore the plant in Lunderskov receives food-grade approved blood (plasma).
Daka Proteins' objective for category 3 raw materials, which can be used for feed production, is to give the value added by producing quality feed products for pets and fur-bearings animals. At the same time Daka Proteins is working on obtaining permission for using all products made from category 3 raw materials from pigs and poultry in feed for production animals.
Daka Proteins' production of feeds and food-grade approved blood (plasma) from category 3 raw materials / food-frade blood from pigs, takes place at modern, high-technology facilities, which ensures absolute safety as well as first-class product quality. The production plants are capable of producing several special products to customer specifications.
The 3 plants are certified according to the ISO 9001/2008 standard. Furthermore the plant in Lunderskov is certified accordin to the ISO 22000 standard. |
